Fun at Padua Hills Art Fiesta

Padua Hills Art Fiesta Quincey Grace

Thank you to all of you who came to look at (and buy) my art up at the Padua Hills Theater in the foothills of Claremont on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021! It was a beautiful day, and I was thrilled to get the opportunity to meet you.

The annual Art Fiesta is hosted and coordinated by the Claremont Art Museum and they’ve got it so well-organized that it went like clockwork for us artists. Thank you to the sponsors Jeffrey K. Stark & Associates, Investment Services, and Wheeler Steffen Sotheby’s International Realty.

I had so MANY people tell me that they want to take a class from me to learn to make my figurines, that I’m actively pursuing finding a location to do just that. It can’t happen until March 2022 because I’m currently knee-deep in sculpting, in order to meet the deadlines for 3 upcoming shows.

If you are sincerely interested, please send me an email at quinceycreates@gmail.com. Be sure your email includes 1) your full name, 2 your phone #, and 3) mention that you’d like to take a class.

I’ve invented a new way to create armatures (the interior structure that holds up a figure while you work on it) that makes the basic creation process pretty fast. I THINK you’ll be able to sculpt an 11″ figure (like the winged figurine by my left knee) in 3-4 hours.

That won’t include the glazing, firing, and finishing touches…which will be done at a follow-up class. During that second 3-4 hour class, I can show you how to use under glazes, under glaze transfer paper, homemade decals, under glaze pencils, glazes, etc.

The combination of sessions, and firing fee, will probably run in the neighborhood of $200. So, if tickles your fancy. Please let me know and I’ll put you on the list of folks I contact when I’ve got all the logistics in place.

If you like all things art, then please visit http://www.claremontmuseum.org for info about the museum and current programs.
