This girl with butterflies on her head was inspired by a painting by Sofia Bonati. Inside the figure on the left, is a stuffed fabric armature. I was fortunate that a fellow artist and her father walked by just as I was needing a spare pair of hands to help me fuse the front slab with the back slab. When I do that step alone, I have to press the front slab to the front of the armature, and then smash that to my chest/stomach while I dangle the back slab around to the back of the armature and press the back slab around the sides of the armature and squeeze the joint together while praying the whole thing doesn’t slump before I can get the sides fused! It was far less stressful, thanks to that extra pair of hands. 🙂
